Houstonians have always been pioneers.

I was honored to be invited to design four unique 5’ dia bronze fountain grates celebrating Houstonians' pioneering spirit for the “Heart of the Park” project led by the SWA group. My designs focused on four areas in which Houstonians have excelled: space exploration, medicine, commerce—oil and gas—and transportation.

The redesign of the park “represents the best of a collaborative process. In all, 11 different entities were involved in making the project a reality, including City departments, not-for-profit groups and commissions, and park users themselves. The “Heart of the Park” in Hermann Park is not only a beautiful civic space but also a source of pride for the entire City of Houston.”
